2022 Volunteer for Site Stewardship Projects

When: Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. 9am to 1pm.

Where: 9am – Meet at FBRHR Visitor Center in Gerlach and then travel to sites within the Black Rock Desert National Conservation Area.

Weather: Although the heat of Summer is upon us, there are lots opportunities to get out and make a difference. Check the weather and come prepared!

Join our fabulous Environmental Stewardship Coordinator, Damien Cooper for an educational and rewarding day of conservation. Meet at our Visitor Center in Gerlach to gear up and learn about the day’s project before heading out to a number of possible sites. This is an excellent opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful sites in the Black Rock in the company of a knowledgeable guide in small groups

We try to accommodate our volunteers by taking them out in our work truck, however if you have a 4-wheel drive or other type of capable vehicle and wish to accompany us in your own transport, please let us know! We will be happy to have you join us even if the signup is full, the more the merrier.
