Friends had a great time getting out and showing Guru Road some much needed love!
LNT Trainer Course 2016, BRD
Friends of Black Rock- High Rock, in conjunction with Nevada Outdoor School, hosted a Leave No Trace trainer course in the Black Rock Desert. It was a fun and informative weekend learning and practicing LNT ethics and principles!
2016 Bat Survey w/ NDOW, NPS, GBI
Friends teamed up with members of NDOW, NPS, and GBI to collect bats and were rewarded with a rare find!
2016 Perseid Meteor Shower Campout
Maybe the meteors were a little disappointing, probably mostly due to the late-setting and bright half-moon, but we still had a blast. Great food and friends on the playa is always a winner!
National Public Lands Day 2016
We had a great weekend at Soldier Meadows conducting maintenance on the cabin and campground area, and enhancing habitat for the threatend Desert Dace. We would like to thank all our volunteers for their hard work. We would also like to thank our partners Nevada Outdoor School, Friends of Nevada Wilderness, Bureau of Land Management – Nevada, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for coming out and making this weekend such a success! We’ll be sharing more pictures and videos from our partners soon.
