Volunteer Sign Up: Leave No Trace Trainer

  • NEWSLETTER

The Leave No Trace Trainer course is a must for anyone who visits the National Conservation Area. Fly Ranch Lead Docent Volunteers need to understand Leave No Trace, and we highly recommend the course for our other volunteers.

The 2-day course covers many outdoor ethics topics. You will learn about preparing for trips, backwoods bathrooms, camp fire alternatives, and how to share Leave No Trace.  At the end of the course, you will be certified to lead awareness workshops. Your trainer certificate comes with a free 6 month membership to the Center for Outdoor Ethics.

The 2019 course is March 30th and 31st. Training is 8:00-5:00 both days.
We will be camping at Fly Ranch. Our leader is Jessie Snaman, a master trainer. She comes to us from Nevada Outdoor School.

Sign up below or contact Claire Schmotzer, Conservation Project and Outreach Coordinator, at volunteer@blackrockdesert.org for more information.
