Ruby PipelineDear Friends of the Black Rock: How uh! Ruby Pipeline www.rubypipeline.com is proposing their Natural Pipeline in our back yard! The very reason they want to go through Nevada is to have the least amount of restrictions and laws to abide by: However destroying sacred, ceremonial, and vast wilderness area. Please visit www.summitlaketribe.org to get more information on filing a comment with Federal Energy Reg. Commission regarding their Environmental Statements and proposals. If you enjoy the wildlife, resources, and scenery of the Playa and the surrounding areas please put your word in to STOP THE PERFERRED ROUTE GOING THROUGH SUMMIT LAKE AND THE HIGH ROCK CANYONS. Many areas are habitat and breeding grounds of thousands of species just a few feet from Seldon National Refuge and the Summit Lake Paiute Tribe. There is also a Black Rock Alternative Route proposed. More information is on the Summit Lake's Enviromental Alerts please in your capacity please file some papers. Deadlines are soon!!! Thank you

And a 600 person construction camp!
Lorraine,
Thank you so much for mentioning this. In addition to the pipeline, there will be a 600 person construction camp at Vya. Many of you who have traveled the 1849 Emigrant Trail know that Vya is where an emigrant journalist wrote about first seeing the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It still looks much like it did a century ago.
We've put up a temporary website sat www.myearlywarning.com to help people learn about the camp, which by the way is described as a quasi-municipal use in the water permit. Don't be fooled by the description "camp". This is not a nice place with picnic tables and pup tents. This will look like a military installation or single story industrial complex. 400 buildings and 200 RV spaces on 160 acres.
August 10th is the comment deadline. We give instructions on how to get your comment to FERC. Please do! We need your help. Thank You!
On Going
Yes they plan on clearing areas to put camps and dig wells every 1 1/2 miles for construction for a source of H20!'
