The Friends of Black Rock High Rock worked in partnership with the BLM for 5 years to staff and manage the Visitor Contact Trailer situated just north of Gerlach.

The trailer has now been retired with the opening of the Black Rock Field Station in 2012. The Field Station is stocked with many free materials such as maps and informative brochures. The winter season has mandated closing the Field Station until spring. Visit the new Friends of Black Rock High Rock office at 320 Main, Gerlach to obtain free maps, purchase books on the region and to find out some hidden secrets about the area from the Friends staff.
