The BLM will be closing the gates to High Rock Canyon (between the mouth of HR Canyon and about 5 miles below Stevens Camp) on February 6, 2012. The intent of this seasonal closure is to prevent damage to the emigrant trail and reduce human disturbance of wildlife, including disturbance to lambing bighorn sheep and nesting raptors.

This applies to vehicles only; High Rock Canyon will still be open to pedestrians
