Duties are specific to directing and participating in field crew activities within Humboldt County. Incumbent will be responsible for implementation of on-the-ground weed control, mapping, record keeping, and rehabilitation work.
Ensures activities comply with existing protocols and BLM District and Field Office and State policies as they relate to noxious weed management. Locates sites where future activities are appropriate, documents them and begins steps to include them in the noxious weed program.
Accurately inventories and maps existing weed populations utilizing global positioning systems (GPS) and topographic maps.
Accomplishes rehabilitation work in compliance with existing plans utilizing equipment such as rangeland drills and tractors. Operates 4x4 pick-ups, all terrain vehicles, and small farm tractors.
Serves as a point of contact for individuals engaged in use of public lands. Works closely with other landowners and cooperates with the area to assure cooperative efforts are successful.
