Hart Diary: Some entries.

A few entries from the 1934 -1938 Diary of William J Hart of Gerlach, Nevada.

19 January 1934 -Went to town, took chow home, then went to Deep Hole Ranch & back to town, had dinner at G.F. & came back home.

30 June 1934 -Went to Fly Ranch after beef for 4th of July.

15 October 1934 -Cold all day. I went to DH Ranch after the truck & went to CC Ranch after potatoes. Wife & I went to Grass Valley with grain, came home at 7:30.

26 September 1934 -I went deer hunting & got a deer. This is the 2nd in my life. Hethey & Charley came by for dinner.

2 March 1935 -Working around the Ranch. The boys is hauling hay. I'm working on the duce. Red came by with Boyed & Irwin. We went fishing & I got 20 fish today.

24 August 1935 -Warm all day. Up at 5:30 this am to look for mail lost last night after a bottle of whisky.

29 January 1936 -Cold & frozen ice in creek last night. Wife & I went to town. J.J. Thrasher's little girl past away at 2:30 pm today. Yeagres came with mail.

3 March 1937 -Warm all day. I worked around Ranch. This pm we killed pig, Red & Jack helped me. Jackson took the sorrel horse to work.

19 February 1938 -Cold with wind & rain & snow all day. EPW & cowboys came today with cows & calves. Buck went to Reno. I helped Ed feed this afternoon.

19 June 1938 -Cold with rain in Reno this am. We left Sparks at 9am, got to Gerlach at 1pm, got to the Ranch at 5pm.

7 December 1938 - Warm all day. Bill Hills, William Iverson & I went to Squaw Valley Mountain today & we blowed out some rocks.
