[FBR] Highway 447 cleanup 06/16/2012
Friends of the Black Rock is planning our annual Highway Clean-up on Hwy 447 on June 16th to fulfill our officially adopted this stretch 2 miles either side of Empire, mile marker 66 thru 70 in an agreement with Nevada DOT. Meet at the Jalisco Club, our new office at 320 Main St. in beautiful downtown Gerlach at 9 AM and from there we will roll out to Empire and get started. This should only take a few hours and creates a clean beautiful entry to the gateway to the Playa. After our great work is completed we're cooking up a great bar-b-q back at the Jalisco Club to share in our great accomplishment and to take trash photos! We'll have a vote for the most creative, unusual trash picked up by an individual and give on mens and one women's new Friends of Black Rock High Rock tshirt away. Now how can you resist that? Send a confirming e-mail to volunteer@blackrockdesert.org letting us know if you plan on joining in the clean-up fun. We would like to have 10 people or so to make this quick fast and easy, (the more the better) which means we're doing the best job possible supporting for the surrounding ecosystem. Nice right? Items to bring: Friends of Black Rock High Rock will provide water, snacks, bar-b-q food, trash bags, and a lovely (designer?) orange vest to wear while you are working for your road protection. Thanks for giving back to the land with us and look forward to having you with us on Hwy 447 on June 16th. |
