This is for all you Emigrant Trail Buffs.

This event normally includes an outing of some sort on Saturday and a speaker at their dinner meeting on Saturday. In 2011 the speaker discussed his efforts to locate the actual table-shaped rock near Lake Tahoe that Mark Twain used to eat and play cards during his travels in the area! He found it!

Trails West also installs and maintains those heavy-duty "T" shaped markers with diary quotations that you've seen in your travels in the Black Rock. They call themselves "the Emigrant Trail organzation that actually visits the trail" and they do trail tours to other areas, service projects, similar events. Some FBR members may have participated in their annual trips to the Black Rock.
