May 24-26, 2013, Fri-Sun: Rendezvous at Black Rock Desert- a family event; Come engage with notable scientists and specialists on the effects that climate is having on wildlife, flora and places you love in the desert and High Rock Canyon. Tours will be given of the Hot Springs, High Rock Canyon, Soldier Meadows and more. Come experience the true history and culture of these areas through a Paiute Elder knowledge. Nevada Outdoors School will be holding a certified ATV safety training and kids camp. Saturday June 01, 2013
June 1, 2013: National Trail Days- Friends begins it’s first ever, trail project at Steven's Camp. The trailhead is just to the west of the house where we’ll be head-quartered. Restoration of two camp sites, clearing and restoring the trail which is magnificently nestled alongside the aspens and creek. This is the first of two visits for the year here- the next is Summer Solstice. Yummy meals provided. Saturday June 15, 2013

June 15 - 16, 2013: Soldier Meadows Pond has invasive weeds which are choking this singularly unique dace (yep, its a small fish) habitat. Field scientists will be on this trip as we dawn our waders, carefully extrude weeds and make sure no little dace are removed in the process. The perfect camping weekend! Delicious meals provided. It's a shame to waste a long weekend so it'll probably be a car camp at a hot spring. Possible Amateur Radio Class on Sunday. Leader is very familiar w/ the area and can find plenty to do up there.
