Board Meetings are open to all Friends members and their guests.

We will begin the evening with the meeting, waft into cocktail hour and snacks while burgers and dogs are on the grille with delicious salads and cool watermelon waiting for desert.

The meeting will begin promptly at 6pm and anticipate an hour and a half agenda

We'll probably leave Friday evening and head up to meet a group of Trails West people who are doing a survey of the Emigrant trail between Double Hot Springs and Mud Meadows abut 20 miles north. Some hiking, some driving, some time in hot springs. We'll probably visit the ghost town site of Hardin City and the Lassen-Clapper Murder site nearby. Sorry, no RV's or Trailers, 4 WD prefered. Volunteers will finish removal of cultural exclosure fencing and hike materials out of the wilderness to a ridgeline. The hike is about 2 miles round trip, and several trips will be made. Tools to be used include: fencing pliers, post jack, bow saw and personal protective equipment. We will camp in a meadow at the end of the road.

Event Details

National Public Lands Day is an opportunity to visit some incredible country and take an active role in preserving your public lands.

The project at Trego Hot Springs will include spring rehabilitation, spring monitoring and clean-up. We also plan to construct a buck-and-rail fence to protect sensitive cultural sites within the area.

This is a great family event.
