and other partner groups in the Black Rock Desert
for a weekend of fun, education, exploration,
music and more. The Black Rock Rendezvous celebrates
the diversity of uses, and history of the Black
Rock Desert Region while fostering stewardship.
This is a Leave No Trace Camping Event. Come prepared. Bring all of your
own food and water.

Families, there is a FREE kids camp each day.
One day: $20 members, $30 non-members
Two day: $35 members, $55 non-members, includes 2 raffle tickets and 2 beer tickets

Kids under 16 free.
Sunday dinner from Gordons BBQ, Fernley: $25
All event tickets will be held for pickup at the event, where you will receive a bracelet, raffle tickets, and beer tickets.
PETS:
Pets are not recommended but are allowed if under control at all times.
This means on a leash.
Last year more than one dog was spooked and went missing during the fireworks display.

Participants may choose to take this self-guided treasure hunt through the Black Rock Desert,
starting with a map and GPS coordinates. At each location, the coordinates and map for the
next location can be found. Find all 9 locations and get the special T-shirt gift.
Great Basin Brewing Company Bicycle Race, Sulfur to Black Rock $25.00 entry fee
Participants will convene at the Main Camp at 8 am to disembark to the starting line.
Transportation will be provided for bicycles and riders. The race will start at 10 am at
Sulphur near the old auto graveyard, and follows a dirt jeep trail along the railroad
tracks for 7 miles before turning west along the scenic and historic Applegate Lassen
Emigrant Trail. The route continues for an additional 10.7 miles, crossing the Quinn
River, and finishing at the Black Rock Hot Spring.
Cyclists must be prepared with appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and water!
There will be no comfort stations along the route.
There is a $25 entry fee, and all participants will receive an event T-shirt.
Cash prizes for the top three finishers will be a percentage of the total purse collected:
25% for 1st, 10% for 2nd, and 5% for 3rd place.
The remaining proceeds will cover overhead costs and benefit our year-round conservation
efforts in the Black Rock NCA. Great Basin Brewing Company will provide a selection of
their micro-brewed beers to be enjoyed by finishing participants of legal drinking age.

Conservation Projects
• Riparian (spring) inventory project - Don Sada
Help Friends of Black rock launch this important project which will achieve baseline inventory
for area springs, enabling restoration of these valuable resources for the use of wildlife.
Participants will visit Deep Hole Spring, Rabbit Hole Spring, & possibly others while assessing
their health through a newly-developed inventory procedure suitable for amateur volunteers.
• Steamboat road rehabilitation - Pat Bruce
Work with Pat Bruce and Friends of Nevada Wilderness to erase trespass roads near
Steamboat Hill. Wiping out these illegal roads helps keep them from proliferating
and aids in the re-establishment of vegetation and wildlife.
Breakfast/lunch provided for conservation volunteers.

FBRHR ANNUAL MEMBER MEETING
This is the Friends of Black Rock High Rock Annual meeting, where new board members are elected, officers are chosen, bylaws changes are adopted, and a review of the 2009 annual report is presented.
